![]() ![]() AMD first produced the Turion 64 X2 on IBM's 90 nm Silicon on insulator (SOI) process (cores with the Taylor codename). They also include AMD Virtualization Technology and more power-saving features. These processors use Socket S1, and feature DDR2 memory. The Turion 64 X2 was launched on May 17, 2006, after several delays. Turion 64 X2 is AMD's 64-bit dual-core mobile CPU, intended to compete with Intel's Core and Core 2 CPUs. The APU's performance is very low and so it may only be paired with entry-level dedicated graphics. It also offers very weak integrated graphics called Radeon R2 6010 which should only offer very modest gaming below 720p. It offers 2 Cores initially clocked at 1.35GHz and no Turbo Mode and has a power consumption of up to 10 Watt. APU E2-6010 Dual-Core is an entry-level processor based on the 28nm, Beema microarchitecture.
